Good choice. At this point in the scenario attempting travel in either direction will endanger your party. The risk is too high. You should be concerned with what will keep you alive. Don't let the fact that someone may be worried about you or your desire to get out of the situation cause you to take unnecessary risk. Digging a snow cave will help you survive the night and hopefully conditions will improve in the morning. Keep the victim warm, quiet, and treat for hypothermia and shock as best you can.
